London Polytechnic Water Polo Club
London Polytechnic Water Polo Club has a proud history stretching way back to 1874. The club is based in central London and is one of the oldest and most successful water polo clubs in the UK. It has a rich and proud history having won the Naional League and National Cup competitions many times. Currently we have two mens teams: The 1st team competes in Division 1 of the National League, and a 2nd team that plays in a local London league. The players live, work, study or are visiting London, but are drawn from all over the UK and abroad. The goals and ambitions of the club are to be the best in the UK and compete as effectively abroad as possible. Simultaneously we retain a healthy sense of fun and are one of the most social clubs to be found anywhere in the world. Student Water Polo: Poly has historically had a very close relationship with the University of London Water Polo teams, providing coaching and support to the federal team and the constituent College teams. UL players have the benefit and opportunity to develop as water polo players to a high standard. Many Poly players past and present have been at the University of London. This site aims to provide information about the club for those who are close to us i.e. players, old boys and supporters and also information for anybody wishing to find out more about the club. If you would like to join us, or compete against us in tournaments, or have any input into the site please contact us. |
